Introduction Langtang Trek Langtang region lies just 50 kilometers north of Kathmandu near the Tibet-Nepal border. This area is home to Langtang National Park- the nearest national park from the capital of Kathmandu. This 1710 sq. km park spans parts of the Nuwakot, Rasuwa, and Sindhupalchok districts, and there are around 4,500 people residing in the national park. The highest point of the Langtang National Park is the Langtang Lirung at 7,245m. Japanese expedition ascended Langtang Lirung for the first time in 1978.
