PMDT: PMDT stands for “Programmed Management Directly Observed Therapy”. It is an approach used primarily in countries where access to health care is limited and drug resistant forms of TB are prevalent. In PMDT programs, health care providers work directly with patients on their medication regimen by providing education about their condition, monitoring medication intake, and providing social support during treatment courses which can last up to two years or more depending on the severity of the case.
