Oxycodone is an opioid pain medication that's used to treat moderate to severe pain. It is sometimes combined with acetaminophen, aspirin, or caffeine as a single tablet depending on the type of use. It may also be used to manage pain after certain surgeries and dental procedures, to treat breathing problems in people who are very old or weak, and for cravings in cancer patients undergoing chemotherapy.
