Suboxone is a prescription medication used to treat opioid addiction in adults. It is part of an inclusive treatment plan for opioid use disorder (OUD). Naloxone is an opioid antagonist that blocks the effects of opioids and causes withdrawal symptoms in people addicted to these medications. It is combined with buprenorphine to prevent misuse (by injection) of this medicine.
