Cedarwood essential oil is extracted from cedar tree wood, namely Atlas cedarwood (Cedrus atlantica) and Virginia cedarwood (Juniperus virginiana). The oil is extracted via steam distillation, which includes vaporising the oil and then condensing it back into a liquid state. The perfume of cedarwood essential oil is warm, woody, and somewhat sweet.
