Fanconi anemia (FA) is treated using blood transfusions (packed red blood cells and platelets), growth factors (erythropoietin, G-CSF, and GM-CSF), bone marrow transplants (preferably from a matched sibling), hormone therapy with androgens like oxymetholone, antibiotics, surgery for structural deformities, gene therapy, and support services including genetic counseling.
