Human utilization of energy is essentially a sophisticated art of transformation. The core principle of pedal-powered electricity generation is to convert the chemical energy of human muscles into the kinetic energy of a generator rotor through the mechanical movement of pedaling, which in turn cuts magnetic field lines to generate electricity. According to Faraday's law of electromagnetic induction, when a closed conductor moves in a magnetic field and cuts magnetic field lines, an induced current is generated. When the generated voltage is high enough, it is sufficient to break down the air insulation between the two poles, forming a spectacular electric arc discharge phenomenon, which we see as "electric sparks" or "lightning." The Jacob's Ladder utilizes this principle, allowing the electric arc to "climb" upwards as heated air pushes it through the gradually widening gap between the electrodes.
Our "Pedal-Powered Electricity Generation" exhibit, housed in a stunning installation nearly 3.5 meters high, strings together this series of energy conversion processes into a magnificent, personally driven performance. Participants sit on a specially designed bicycle and pedal rapidly. Each pedal stroke drives a connected generator to rotate faster. As the mechanical power output increases, the voltage generated by the generator rises sharply. This high-voltage electricity is transmitted to a pair of spiraling, horn-shaped electrodes at the top of the device, narrow at the bottom and wide at the top. Instantly, a dazzling arc of electricity is "pulled" out at the narrowest point of the electrodes, then, under the influence of hot air, gracefully ascends and elongates along the spiral electrode track until it disappears at the top. A new arc is then generated at the bottom, repeating the cycle to create a dynamic electro-optical sculpture directly "ignited" by your physical strength.
Our company focuses on transforming the abstract principles of energy science into interactive spectacles that the public can experience firsthand and feel a sense of accomplishment. The key to creating exhibits like "pedal-powered power generation" lies in the efficient design of the energy conversion process, the safety of the high-voltage discharge, and the dramatic presentation of the overall visual effect. If your science museum, new energy-themed exhibition hall, or large public space needs a landmark interactive installation that powerfully interprets "energy conversion" and "human-powered power generation" and inspires great enthusiasm from participants, we can custom-design an exhibit just for you, jointly creating an energy feast connecting human kinetic energy and electro-optical art.
