Since 2018, the West African Gas Pipeline network has played a major role in our regional efforts to reach other countries in the West African region with efficient natural gas supply. Through the pipeline network, we have expanded our operations to Lome transporting over 15 million standard cubic feet of natural gas per day. Here’s a brief overview of our work on the West African Gas Pipeline. THE WEST AFRICAN GAS PIPELINE Also known as WAGP, the West African Gas Pipeline is a 678km regional pipeline that links the Escravos-Lagos Pipeline System in Nigeria to Takoradi in Ghana with annexing pipelines that line extends to Cotonou, Benin; Lome, Togo; and Tema, Ghana. THE PARTNERSHIP In 2018, as part of our vision to solve energy problems in Africa, Axxela Limited signed a Gas Transportation Agreement with the West African Gas Pipeline Company Limited (WAPG) to transport over 15 million standard cubic feet per day of natural gas via the West African Gas Pipeline to Lome, Togo. This partnership made us the first private natural gas shipper in the West African Gas Pipeline. OUR LONG TERM VISION Through the WAGP, Axxela has plans to expand the supply of gas across other West African countries. Our vision is to position gas as a preferred fuel option to facilitate socio-economic empowerment across West Africa’s key markets.
