Extra-pulmonary TB can affect any part of the body outside of the lungs. This includes the lymph nodes, bones, joints, kidneys, brain, and spine. Presumptive extra-pulmonary TB is when a healthcare provider suspects that a person has extra-pulmonary TB, but they haven't yet been diagnosed with it.
