A research paper is only as strong as its central question. A good research question is specific enough to be answerable within your paper's scope, significant enough to be worth investigating, and positioned within the existing academic conversation. Vague questions produce vague papers. Before writing a word, define exactly what your paper is trying to answer and why that question matters in your field.
